So I started taking this free art class... & it's amazing!!! I'm learning so much! I haven't pushed myself or tested my skills in quite awhile so it's nice to see that I can still surprise myself, sometimes.
Here are the pieces we've done in class so far.
And the picture of my niece is just something I got up the courage to do on my own since starting the class. Not the greatest but it's a start & good practice too. And to think I almost threw it away not even half way through drawing it. Just goes to show that sometimes you have to have a little faith in yourself & see your project through to the end even if you feel like giving up! Look what I would have been throwing away had I given up.
Keep strong fellow artists! And Never give up! :)

The Random Compliment...
We all enjoy a nice compliment every now and again, right? It's ok, even if you're a guy you can say 'yes' cause it would be the truth! :) We all, no matter what we look like or what we do, want to know that we're doing something right, that we look nice. We want to know that others notice us.
Remember back to the last time you received a random compliment... How did it make you feel? Warm and fuzzy? Did it lighten your step? Boost your confidence maybe?
Yesterday was one of those times for me :)
This may seem silly that I'm making a big deal about this but it really made me feel good and gave me more confidence.
I was in Wal-Mart and doing what everyone typically does in a Wal-Mart; shopping - in a frantic frenzy - like I was on a mission, search and destory (more like, search-search-finally-find-grab-throw-in-cart and race-off-to-grab-next-item-on-list)! I was about half way through my list and had just gotten a couple rolls of refrigerator biscuit. As I made my way to the cheese section, I smiled at a mother-daughter pair standing nearby.
The mother was leaning on the shopping cart handle, at eye-level with her daughter who was sitting in the child seat of the cart. The little girl couldn't have been more than 4 or 5 years old. She was cute! :)
As I walked by, I heard the little girl gasp and exclaim, "Mom! That girl is really pretty!"
By the time she had said this, I already had my hands on the montaray jack. I smiled to myself and laughed a little, but on the inside I was giggling uncontrolably. That one comment had completely changed my mood for the day.
Her mother tried to hush the little girl but the daughter just looked at her mother and said, "Wasn't she Mom? Wasn't she pretty?"
Her mother replied in a very soft voice, "Yes, she was."
Then they turned down another isle and were gone.
This simple remark just made my day! In my disarray - as messy and as horrible as a thought I looked - even this little girl saw something pretty about me :) I love how the simplist little things can change your whole day!

Give Me a Reason to Smile...
Give me a reason to smile... A reason to dance, a reason to sing, a reason to Live... Show me how u feel, dont lie tell me the truth... Give me a reason to smile.. A reason to stop crying... Give me a reason not to give up, a reason to keep... fighting day by day... If u hate me, tell me... If u love me hold me... If ur just playing with my feelings, plz just let me go... These r the words I've wanted to say... But I just smile & watch u play with my heart... Just tell me so I know, I wont hate u, tell me so I can dive & not get caught up by my heart & the things I feel for u...

What is Love?
Love, Love, Love, Love, Love... we hear the word everyday but do we really ever stop and think what it truely means???
What is love??? Well... this is what the Bible says...
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." ~ John 3:16 ~ Wow! Our Heavenly Father loved us so much that He sent his son, Jesus Christ, here to earth to die for our sins. I mean He sent Christ knowing that he would have to suffer and would die... if that's not love I don't know what is...
"Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:4-5 ~ God loves us so much that He gives us grace and mercy... He gives us life...
"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." ~ John 15:12-13 ~ If we all could live with a love like this can you think of what the world would be like...
"Love is patient, love is kind. It doesnot boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always hopes, always perseveres." ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ~ This is true love...
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." ~1 John 4:18 ~
This are the different kinds of love...
eros [ERR-OS] (mushi or sexual love)
phileos (brotherly love)
phileos (brotherly love)
storge (parental love)
agape [Ah-Gah-Pay] (God's love for us) (which is unfailing and unlike any other love nothing can come close to the way God loves us)
Just remember that love isn't just a word... It is a feeling and a way to live... :)
